Ross Archibald completed his transfer to the Can-Cans from Lossiemouth last Thursday, and made an immediate impact with a debut goal for the Mosset Park side.

The ‘Rossco’ strike at Kynoch Park was in vain as his new team slid to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of bogey club Keith, but the pacy forward is confident he has made the right move to satisfy his hunger for success.

“It’s a chance to win things, so it’s the right move for me,” he said. “Forres are a team challenging at the top end and I knew a few of the guys there already, so I was pretty keen from the moment I knew they were interested.

“Lossie told me they had enquired about me at the start of the season but with Kevin (Walker) taking over I decided to stay and see how I got on.

“Once Forres followed up their interest, it showed to me they really wanted me and it made my mind up.”

The transfer to Mechanics also means a rare break for Ross from his twin brother Liam, who has been his almost constant companion throughout his football career.

The pair came through the youth ranks at Elgin City together before joining Lossiemouth, where Liam remains, while Ross heads on to pastures new.
