Back-to-back defeats for Forres

FORRES Mechanics crashed to a second straight league defeat when Wick beat them 3-2 in Caithness.

But the damage of the loss was cushioned by news that leaders Cove Rangers could only draw at home to Keith.

Charlie Rowley's Can Cans found themselves 3-0 down early in the second half, before strikes by Kyle Scott and Ross MacPherson gave them hope.

Nathan Sharp then hit the bar in stoppage time but time ran out on

The Cans' defeat followed a 4-2 reversal at Huntly seven days earlier.

Keith lost an early goal at Cove before netting twice in succession through Cammy Keith (penalty) and Scott Fowlie. The Aberdonians levelled on the half hour mark and there was no further scoring as it ended 2-2.

Buckie Thistle recent good form came to an end when they dropped two points at home to bottom side Strathspey Thistle.

Mark Chisholm and Shawn Scott put Jags 2-0 up before the Grantown side came back to earn a 2-2 draw.

Lossiemouth returned to winning ways with a 2-0 succes at Brora, with a Stuart Golabek own goal and a Ross Archibald counter doing the business for Charlie Charlesworth's boys.

Huntly crashed 3-0 at Formartine United while Rothes' match at Clach fell victim to the weather an hour before kick off.

Elsewhere in the Highland League Inverurie won 1-0 at Deveronvale, Fraserburgh beat Turriff 5-1 and the Fort v Nairn game was off.
