BUCKIE Thistle are planning to build a new, 280-seater stand as part of a major redevelopment of their Victoria Park ground.
The Highland League outfit announced plans to improved their stadium to meet SFA criteria after recently being awarded their entry level club licence.
Initially outlining plans to construct a new toilet block in the ground, Buckie plan to use money from the sale of their old social club to build a brand new seated area in front of their existing main stand.
President Gary Farquhar said the stand – which includes a large, seated area and five hospitality boxes – could be ready for the beginning of next season, and revealed Jags had other ambitious plans to further improve their stadium.
“This new stand is a reality and not a pipe-dream,” Farquhar said. “The ideal scenario is to have everything planned, through, and for the new stand to be in place for the start of season 2013-14.”
Additional development of Victoria Park could include the area behind the goal to the east of the ground, which has not been used for training since all-weather pitches were laid beside the ground.
