Cameras inspire Forres' first win of 2014

THE appearance of the SHFLtv cameras at Mosset Park once more imspired Forres Mechanics to victory.

Charlie Rowley’s side beat Cove Rangers 3-1 in a match which came to life in the second half (see video below).

The result ended a Forres run of five games without a win, with their last victory coming back on December 21 when they beat Clach 2-1.

That success also coincided with the last time SHFLtv filmed a Cans’ game, and the Mechanics rose to the occasion on Saturday to beat champions Cove.

Keen to bounce back from a heavy 6-0 defeat at leaders Brora the week before, Forres couldn’t find a breakthrough during a scoreless first 45 minutes.

The deadlock was broken just after the hour when Scott Moore ran through and rounded the Cove keeper before coolly slotting home.

Within two minutes Moore had turned provider for Lee Fraser to fire home his tenth goal of the season.

A Thomas Yeats header from a corner quickly pulled one back for the Aberdonians and put the contest back in the melting pot.

Manager Rowley brought on striker Kris Duncan as sub for the final ten minutes and he didn’t take long to make an impact.

In the final minute scorers Moore and Fraser combined to give Duncan a simple tap-in and seal all three points for the home side.
