Fans of the Highland League champs snapped up  tickets for the home section on Thursday night in a matter of minutes after they went on sale.

And with Rangers being given 1,000 tickets after the Mosset Park capacity was almost doubled for next Saturday's tie, fans of the Glasgow giants are certain to use up their entire allocation.

Forres chairman Dr James Anderson said his club had done everything to meet safety requirements and ensure more supporters could attend the game.

“We’ve more or less completed all of the work, and anything left to be done is being finished off almost as I speak,” he said.

“Our crush barriers were in our view entirely satisfactory and we had them fully checked, but Moray Council insisted that we have them re-checked by another structural engineer. We also had to tidy up the markings on the steps of our main stand, which we have done.

“In short, we had to demonstrate that really we knew what we were doing in terms of match control and having the right people available on the day to ensure public health and safety, and I think we have demonstrated that.”
