CHARLIE Charlesworth has ended speculation about his future as Lossiemouth manager by agreeing to stay on at the club.
Rumours were rife that the Coasters’ boss was ready to quit, with heavy work commitments cited as a reason for him wishing to step down. He has to drive to Westhill, just outside Aberdeen, to work.
But Charlesworth confirmed that following a meeting with the Grant Park club board on Wednesday night, he is going nowhere.
“I’m staying. We had a meeting and discussed the way forward with positive outcomes,” Charlesworth told the ‘Scot’ yesterday (Thursday).
It is the second time the manager has been persuaded to stay at Lossie, having been forced to reconsider his position last year by a job change taking him away from the area.
Charlesworth is understood to be on a rolling contract at Lossiemouth, and has agreed to commit himself to the Reds for another year.
The news will be greeted with much relief in the town, with rumours even circulating during Saturday’s home match against Buckie Thistle that he would soon be moving on.
