Archibald looked bound for Deveronvale this week, with a deal set to be struck between the two clubs before the weekend.

However Coasters boss Stevie Dunn is on the brink of signing former Rothes midfielder Mark Hector, and is looking to buy last season’s loan player, Darren Bailey, from Formartine United.

An un-named goalkeeper is also on Dunn’s wanted list to put pressure on current number 1 Errol Watson.

The Lossie boss has already added former Elgin City and Forres Mechanics midfielder Kevin Duguid to his squad, as revealed in last week’s ‘Scot’.

Keith-based Hector (29) could be next to move to Grant Park if Lossie and Islavale agree a fee this week. The player, who had a spell at Rothes three years ago before returning to the juniors, is believed to be keen for another crack at Highland League with the Coasters.
