MORAY will play host to some tasty ties in next season’s Betfred Cup.
Highland League champs Buckie Thistle join Elgin City in the Scottish League Cup tournament, which was won by treble winners Celtic last term.
Elgin are at home to Premiership side Hearts on the same night that Buckie play host to Dundee United.
Friday’s draw put League 2 City in the same group as the Jam Tarts, as well as Dunfermline Athletic, East Fife and Peterhead.
Jags will play both Dundee clubs plus Fife pair Cowdenbeath and Raith Rovers.
In the opening games on Saturday, July 15, Elgin visit Dunfermline while Buckie are away to Cowdenbeath.
Three days later Hearts travel north to Borough Briggs while United – who missed out on promotion to the Premiership last season – pay a visit to Buckie’s Victoria Park.
Jags are then away to Dundee on Saturday, July 22.
On July 25 Buckie play their final group game at home to Raith on the same night that Elgin are away to East Fife.
City’s group campaign finishes on July 29 with a home game against former Highland League rivals Peterhead, who were relegated from League 1 last season and will also face Elgin in the league this term.
With Buckie playing their four group games on the first four matchdays, it frees the Highland League champs up to unfurl the flag at their home game against Clach on July 29.
