A TRIO of Elgin City new signings have been confirmed by manager Barry Wilson.
Defender Matthew Cooper (19) has agreed terms on a two-year deal with City after being released by Premiership side Inverness.
Keeper John Gibson and stopper Gordon Finlayson, who were both on loan at Borough Briggs last season, will also complete their permanent moves to Elgi this week.
Wilson revealed how he was tipped off by former Caley Thistle boss John Robertson about the ability of Macduff-based Cooper, and watched him in a series of under-20 games last season.
"I was really impressed with him and thought he would get another contract at Inverness," Barry said. "He’s definitely one for the future, and can play as a centre half or a sitting midfielder."
Gibson (25) was freed by Dundee last week and is also penning a two-year deal at Elgin, where he has had three loan spells at in the past.
And Finlayson, another loan player from last term who was released by Ross County, is making the switch to City.
Wilson added that he will have talks with top goalscorer Craig Gunn and midfielder Brian Cameron about signing extended deals this week.
