ELGIN City want to sign former Premiership defender Grant Munro in the next transfer window.
Munro (33) parted company with Ross County earlier this month, prompting a move by City boss Ross Jack to try and persuade the stopper to come to Borough Briggs.
But Elgin face stiff competition both from fellow SPFL sides and big spending Highland League clubs to secure the services of the ex-Caley Thistle veteran.
Manager Jack hopes Munro – who played nine games for Elgin in their debut Scottish League season on loan from Inverness – will be ambitious enough to want to stay in the senior game.
"I’ve spoken to him a couple of times and we will monitor his situation very closely," Ross revealed. "Grant was very courteous, and he’s an outstanding person and a good defender who has kept himself very fit.
"Of course he will have umpteen offers so he’s still keeping his options open, but I’m very interested in him."
