Elgin gets ready for Rangers' visit

ELGIN City’s clash with Rangers is close to being a Borough Briggs sell-out.

Less than 200 tickets for this weekend’s Division 3 match were still available for sale at the ground on Monday lunchtime.

A 4,200 capacity has been set for Saturday’s big game, with Rangers quickly selling out their allocation of 1,800.

Home briefs were snapped up at two public sales last week, with the club expecting to sell the remaining amount of between 150 and 200 soon.

Tickets are limited to two per person, and can be bought during office hours from the Borough Briggs commerical office.

The game is being screened live on Sky Sports 4, kicking off at 12.45pm.

Sky will have a total of 12 cameras covering the action, and have installed a temporary studio at the west end of the ground as well as camera gantries on top of the north enclosure.

It is the fifth meeting between the clubs this season, with Rangers winning three and drawing one of the previous four.

Ally McCoist’s men will be keen to bounce back from their shock 2-1 home defeat to Annan Athletic on Saturday.

But the ‘Gers are still 17 points clear at the top of Division 3 and are closing in on the title.

Elgin, who sit sixth just outside the play-off pack, gave their own promotion hopes a boost with a 1-0 win at Peterhead, ending a run of five straight defeats.
