Elgin young guns will get their chance

THE younger players in the Elgin City squad will be given an opportunity to impress manager Barry Wilson in pre-season.

“We have a lot of games, so the young boys will be used," he said.

"It is important they get decent game time and not just 20 minutes here and there."

Brian Cameron has been the shining example in the last couple of seasons of a local youngster emerging from the youth ranks, and Wilson is keen to see more follow in his footsteps.

The friendlies kick off next Saturday (July 5) with a trip to Highland League neighbours Lossiemouth.

Wilson still hopes to add one or two senior players to the squad before the start of the season but no deals have been done yet.
