FIVE-goal John McLeod fired Buckie Thistle into the third round of the Scottish Cup.
Jags thrashed hosts Gretna 6-2 in Saturday’s replay and will now host Dunfermline Athletic in the next stage of the competition.
Top scorer McLeod was Buckie’s hero, scoring on just three minutes and grabbing a second before half time, though Jags then had Stuart Taylor sent off.
The red-hot striker added three more for ten-men Jags and Craig Dorrat was also on target to give Buckie the perfect preparation for next week’s Aberdeenshire Cup final against Cove.
Forres Mechanics will join Jags in round 3 as a 4-0 replay success against Cumbernauld Colts earned the Cans a home tie against Stenhousemuir.
Craig McGovern got Forres off to a flyer with a goal on 30 seconds and Stuart Soane made it 2-0.
Lee Fraser’s header and a brilliant back-heel finish from Kyle Scott sealed a great display by the Moray men.
In the Highland League Keith pulled off a great result as they won 3-1 away to Fraserburgh.
Luke Barbour, James Brownie and Donnie Fraser scored for the Maroons.
Rothes went down to a 5-0 defeat away to champions Cove Rangers, while Lossiemouth were beaten 2-1 at Nairn despite Scott Miller’s penalty opener.
