Former Elgin boss gets Turriff job

FORMER Elgin City manager Ross Jack has been named as the new boss at Highland League Turriff United. From the sidelines, Elgin City manager Ross Jack roars on his players to keep up their efforts just after they had scored their first goal at Station Park, Forfar, on Saturday.

The 55-year-old was unveiled at The Haughs before Turriff's 1-1 draw with Buckie Thistle on Wednesday night.

Jack has also taken former City coach Bobby Beckwith to Turriff as his assistant.

The former Everton, Dunfermline, Dundee and Norwich player parted company with Elgin in January after exactly five years at the club.

He steered the Borough Briggs outfit to the Division 2 play-offs in 2012 for the first time in their time in the Scottish League.

But his exit from Elgin arrived earlier this year following a string of tough results, and he was replaced by his former number 2, Barry Wilson.
