FORRES Mechanics and Elgin City meet this week in a Moray derby with a place in the AJG Parcels North of Scotland Cup final at stake.
Mosset Park will be no place for the faint hearted as the former Highland League foes do battle on Wednesday night.
Charlie Rowley’s Forres are in great form going into this week’s semi-final, as a 6-0 thrashing of Huntly made it five wins in a row on Saturday.
But League 2 Elgin are expected to field a strong team, with eight players from their starting line-up of their 3-3 draw at Annan Athletic on Saturday.
Mechanics line-up will include former Elgin midfielder Dachi Khutsishvili, who has scored in both matches he has played for the Cans since signing earlier this month.
Fraser Forbes, who was released by Elgin and signed for Forres in the summer, will also play against his old club.
The Mosset Park side is set to welcome back centre half Graham Fraser, who missed Saturday’s win over Huntly. Graeme Grant, Kyle Scott, Ross Macpherson and Duncan Jones are still on the injured list.
Elgin are likely to start with deputy keeper Stewart Black, who played in the previous rounds against Strathspey Thistle and Rothes.
Only Marvin Andrews and Graeme Beveridge won’t travel, as both Dennis Wyness and Graham Bayne are expected to head north and feature in the semi-final.
The winners will progress to the final where they will face either Brora Rangers or Wick Academy, who meet in Caithness tonight (Tuesday).
