FORRES Mechanics have landed a dream Scottish Cup draw at home to Rangers.
The Highland League champs were paired with the Ibrox giants in Monday’s second round ballot.
It has not yet been confirmed if the tie will be played at Mechanics’ Mosset Park ground on September 29, or be moved to a bigger stadium.
Rangers’ demotion to Division 3 means they will visit Moray twice this season to take on Elgin.
But their cup clash with the Can Cans is the biggest draw for a Highland League team since Keith played Rangers at Pittodrie in a third round clash in 1996.
Elsewhere, the winners of this weekend’s first round replay between Rothes and Buckie Thistle are at home to Annan Athletic.
Huntly could have a derby game at Inverurie Locos if they overcome Wigtown and Bladnoch in Saturday’s rematch in the Borders.
And Division 3 Elgin City take on south non-leaguers St Cuthbert Wanderers, who won 1-0 at Keith in the preliminary round of this season’s competition.
