MOMENTUM is a key ingredient at the business end of the Highland League season.
Forres boss Charlie Rowley admits his team have it in abundance right now.
The Can-Cans extended their unbeaten run to six games when they beat Fort William 4-1 last Saturday to reach the last eight of the Breedon Aggregates Highland League Cup at Claggan Park.
Rowley admits the league cup has opened up with Buckie putting out Cove and Brora being expelled from the competition.
“Every team left will have their own ideas about progressing and getting to the final,” he said.
Forres will welcome Buckie to Mosset Park in the next round and Rowley admits it will be a close affair.
Continuing consistency could be the key to finishing as high up the league table as possible and maybe ending the campaign with silverware for Mechanics.
With a league visit to Strathspey this Saturday followed by a midweek game against Fort William, Rowley said his squad will be fully utilised.
“There will be changes for Saturday and again next Wednesday as I want to have everybody fresh as we gear up for the Buckie cup tie.”
