The Forres and Nairn welfare league stages its first meeting in the town’s Carlton Hotel on Sunday, February 3 at 6.30pm.

League spokesman Matthew Young said a date for the AGM ahead of the new season will be agreed, and applications from new teams will be discussed.

Any matters carried over from last season, and possible rule changes will also be on the agenda.

"We require all clubs from last year to be represented, and any new teams applying should have someone present as well," he said.

Forres side Carlton won last year’s league for the second time in 3 seasons, coming out on top in a four-club title tussle which went right to the wire.

FC Elgin claimed their first welfare silverware when they clinched the Ally Ross Rosebowl, winning the final against local rivals Elgin Thistle.

Any clubs keen to join the league, or requiring more information can contact secretary Kevin Munro via the league’s website, Facebook or Twitter.
