FRANI More has challenged his players to "roll up their sleeves and battle".
The Speysiders are looking to put a nine goal midweek mauling behind them at home to Brora Rangers on Saturday.
He accused his players of lacking fight against Inverurie Locos.
“It seemed to me that too many of them didn’t even seem to want to be playing. If something goes wrong the heads go down.
“They don’t seem to want to fight and roll their sleeves up and battle. We have to work hard to turn things around,” added More.
Rothes will need to raise their game if they are to avoid a similar outcome against a Brora side on Saturday which is bursting with SPL and Scottish League experience.
More was missing four key players in midweek with skipper Michael Dunn, Scott Dunn, Scott Robison and Alan Shearer all still injured.
The two Scotts should be back for Brora and More revealed he may well pull the boots back on himself to bolster the squad.
