ROSS Jack says Elgin City must get tougher if they are to mount a promotion challenge.
Reflecting on Saturday's 2-1 league defeat to Albion Rovers, he said: "Not only was it a disappointing result but I thought at times the performance was extremely poor.
"We need to get back to working extremely hard. We didn’t do that and just expect to turn up and teams to allow us to get on the ball and make pretty passes and that doesn’t happen.
"We have to match teams’ effort, graft. We are a very nice team but need to be more aggressive and ruthless in certain areas, without being dirty; just tough to beat.
"It is too easy for teams to come and match us or beat us."
"We go to a very tough place next week and East Stirling had a very good win over Queens Park at Hampden.
Jack hopes to have skipper David Niven back for the game at Shire but Sean Crighton will be suspended following his red card.
