Loan signing Matty shines for Maroons

GRAHAM McBeath celebrated his first win as Keith boss - at former club Rothes.

And his first signing at Kynoch Park, Matty McDonald, brought in on loan from Formartine, stole the show with a dazzling double in the 5-3 victory.

Andy MacAskill, who is expected to join Turriff United this week, also netted twice with Sean Keith completing the scoring for the visitors, who had been 3-0 in front, only for Rothes to hit back.

Ross Gibb, Ben Stewart and Andrew Corbett were on the home scoresheet.

McBeath was delighted with the win. "We could have won by a bigger margin but all credit to Rothes for coming back and making it difficult for us."

His opposite number, Graeme Roy, was full of praise for the attacking threat the Speysiders showed but said they paid the penalty for slack defensive play. "We made too many mistakes at the back," he said.
