A NEW online sports TV channel is set to film Moray’s Highland League football clubs in action.
SHFLtv has been set up by Nairn businessman Ross J MacLean to show edited highlights of a selected Highland League match each week of the season.
The channel has already shown two Buckie Thistle matches this term, their home win over Fraserburgh and last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Brora Rangers.
Next Moray team to be covered is Forres Mechanics, with cameras at Grant Street Park in Inverness on Saturday to film the Cans’ game against Clach. The following weekend, Rothes’ trip top Deveronvale is being covered.
MacLean piloted the project for last October’s AJG Parcels North of Scotland Cup Final, and has since revealed the channel received 129,000 hits over a 30 day period from all over the world.
SHFLtv, in association with Thistle Channel, is also looking to recruit trainee camera operators and reporters through local colleges throughout the Highland League catchment area, and is keen to gain sponsorship with the site growing in popularity.
The cameras will visit Forres’ Mosset Park on September 21 for their match against Brora, and Mechanics are also being captured on October 19 when they travel to Fort William.
Keith are first covered on September 28 at Fraserburgh, and the Maroons feature on consecutive weekends in November at Inverurie on the 16th and at home to Strathspey Thistle on the 23rd. Their Moray derby at Rothes on December 14 is another game scheduled.
Lossiemouth’s first appearance is on October 26 when they entertain Inverurie.
