MORAY pair Keith and Buckie Thistle both missed out on the Aberdeenshire Shield final.
The Jags slipped out 1-0 at Cove, while the Maroons went down 2-1 at home to Turriff Utd.
In the Highland League it was also a poor night for Moray clubs with Lossiemouth going down 4-0 at home to Fraserburgh and Forres Mechanics losing the A96 derby 1-0 to Nairn County.
Rothes' looked to have turned a corner last weekend when they went down 2-1 at Buckie after a battling performance.
However, it all went horribly wrong for new boss Frani More at Mackessack Park with his side on the wrong end of a 9-1 thumping by Inverurie Locos.
“I wasn’t shouting at the players at the end, but I told them it was embarrassing. I am trying to figure out why it keeps happening,” said More.
Huntly were 3-2 winners at Strathspey Thistle.
League leaders Wick Academy were thumped 5-0 at Brora Rangers, while Formartine Utd closed the gap with a 4-0 win over Deveronvale.
