FORRES Mechanics had two players sent off as they lost their North Cup derby semi-final at Nairn County on Tuesday.
Simon Allan and keeper Stuart Knight both saw red for Mechanics in the 2-0 defeat at Station Park.
Forres were already without key defender Graham Fraser due to suspension as they went into battle aiming for a place in the AJG Parcels North of Scotland Cup final.
Manager Charlie Rowley handed a debut to midfielder Stuart Soane, a former Caley Thistle player on loan from Formartine United.
Play was tense and chances limited in the first half until Conor Gethins shot County in front four minuites before the break.
Allan was shown a straight red card early in the second half for an off-the-ball incident, with Forres coach Charlie Brown also sent packing from the sidelines for dissent.
Cans’ woe was completed in the final minute when Knight brought down ex-Elgin City striker Stuart Leslie in the box, leading to a penalty for Nairn and ordering off for the Forres keeper.
Gethins scored from the spot to send Nairn through to the final, where they will play the winner of Wednesday might’s match between Brora and Wick.
