Rangers go six points clear

RANGERS have stretched their advantage over Elgin City at the top of the third division to six points.

Ally McCoist's side beat Annan Athletic 3-0 at Ibrox on Tuesday night to open up daylight between them and their main challengers.

A double from David Templeton and one from Andy Little secured the points.

Rangers had defender Lee Wallace red carded in the first half and he will miss the game at Elgin on Saturday. Annan missed a penalty which could have levelled the game at 1-1 in the first half after Wallace was sent off for a challenge in the box.

A midweek crowd in excess of 42,000 packed into Ibrox for the Annan game.

There will be a sellout 4,520 crowdn at Borough Briggs on Saturday for a game that has a 12.30pm kick-off.
