Rothes look to take the positives

TWO steps forward, just one step back is Graeme Roy’s assessment of where Rothes are right now.

After pushing Formartine all the way two weeks ago, they were thumped 6-0 by Huntly last weekend.

Rothes’ boss Roy is determined that the positivity created by the performance against Formartine will not be lost as they bid to get back on track at home to Clach this weekend.

"It will be a test for us but we have shown we can rise to the challenge," said Roy.

Skippe Michael Dunn will be suspended following his red card at Christie Park, forcing the manager to switch striker Liam Forbes back into central defence alongside Kevin Shortreed, however, he has no qualms about playing him there.

"Liam used to play centre half and he will play anywhere he is asked to play; he is an honest lad and will give 100%."

Ross Gibb remains sidelined by an ankle injury and is unlikely to be fit for consideration.
