'Snow' go for Buckie and Keith midweek matches

TWO more Highland League matches involving Moray clubs have been hit by the wintry March weather.

Buckie Thistle’s visit to Formartine United’s troubled North Lodge Park on Wednesday night is off due to a snowbound pitch.Forres Mechanic Ryan Green brings down Buckie Thistle's David MacRae on Saturday.

Similar conditions at The Haughs mean Keith’s trip to Turriff United has been postponed.

Forres Mechanics are due to visit Deveronvale while there are two other midweek matches scheduled at Clach and Cove, weather permitting.

This Saturday’s fixture card has also been changed due to the re-staging of the Highland League Cup tie between Rothes and Keith postponed from last weekend.

The two Moray teams try again at Mackessack Park to get the tie on, with the winners visiting holders Buckie in the quarter-finals next month.

It means Lossiemouth’s league match against Rothes on Saturday has been postponed, and rearranged for next Wednesday (March 27).

This weekend’s cup re-scheduling also means Keith’s home game against Formartine is off, and instead Formartine will play host to Lossiemouth.

Keith are also at home to Fraserburgh in a league match next Tuesday (March 26).
