PREMIERSHIP Ross County had too much class and firepower for Elgin City in a 3-0 win at Borough Briggs.
But City boss Barry Wilson had four key players missing from his side just a week before their season starts with the cup visit of Stirling Albion.
Skipper Jamie Duff, midfielder Brian Cameron and striker Dennis Wyness remain on the injury list for the Borough Briggs side while top scorer Craig Gunn also missed the visit of his former club County.
“We’ve got a few to add to the squad who played today,” Wilson said. “If we can get them all fit soon I’ll be confident, and really looking forward to picking a best eleven.
“I was realy happy with our performance overall.”
Wilson started with Polish trialist Damian Wojczik at left back, after the player impressed in the midweek win at Clach.
City opened well and former Inverness keeper Antonio Reguero had a couple of saves to make early on from Matthew Cooper and Graeme Beveridge.
Gradually the visitors found their feet and Rocco Quinn fired them ahead on 26 minutes from a Yoann Arquin cross.
New City keeper Michael Fraser saved well from Jake Jervis against the club he left in the summer to join Elgin.
At the other end Mark Nicolson, another former County man, almost levelled with a power header which Reguero palmed away at full stretch.
Fraser was beaten again on 49 minutes by a low strike from Richard Brittain which seemed to take a bad bounce before skipping over him.
County added a third when sub Joe Cardle crossed for Arquin to power home a great header.
Trialist Wojczik will play again in a friendly at Wick on Tuesday, and manager Wilson also confirmed that ex-County midfielder Archie Macphee has completed his move to Elgin from Highland League Nairn.
