FC Fochabers have suffered their first league defeat in their debut Moray welfare season.
Keith outfit Ugie United made the short trip along the A96 on Sunday for a clash between two of this year's Division 1 promotion chasers.
Home team Fochabers started well, with Gary Burchell having a goal disallowed for offside inside two minutes. But a couple of minutes later Richard Johnston worked a nice one-two with Christopher Grant before netting a Fochabers opener.
That was cancelled out when Mark Ramsay gave away a penalty and Scott Johnston scored from the spot. Willie Cruickshank then put the Keith team ahead, before Ramsay went from spot sinner to spot scorer when he scored a penalty after Andrew Walker beat two defenders and was brought down.
James Reid regained Ugie’s lead, and the third penalty of the match also went the visitors’ way, with Johnston netting his second to wrap up a 4-2 win.
Bowl 2000 created some good openings in the early exchanges of their home clash with Mosstodloch, whose keeper was in good form to keep the scoresheet blank.
Gary Burnett then put the away team in front after 25 minutes, but their lead was cancelled out before the break when Graham McLaren’s struck a 40-yarder.
Mosstodloch were the better team after the break and their pressure was rewarded by goals from Ashley Lake and Zack Hargreaves to clinch a 3-1 win.
