ARE Elgin City getting a fair crack of the whip from match referees?
Black and Whites’ boss Jim Weir thinks they aren’t, after protesting that Forfar should have had a player sent off as his team was held to a 1-1 draw at Borough Briggs on Saturday.
Elgin City TV highlights, above, show the game’s goals and main talking points.
The big incident as far as Weir was concerned came midway through the second half when City striker Chris McLeish was brought to deck as he chased a clearance from goalkeeper Cammy MacKay towards the Forfar goal.
Ref Graham Beaton ruled McLeish had accidentally collided with Forfar defender Jamie Bain, who mements later set up his team’s equalising goal.
"It would be a free kick and they would probably be down to ten men," said Weir. "Instead, five minutes later they’ve got an equaliser and we are on the back foot.
"We’re not being helped by officials getting these decisions wrong.
"The camera does not lie and I didn’t lie when I saw it."
