THREE new faces in, and now Elgin City manager Barry Wilson has a mystery player with significant Premier League experience on his wanted list.
Ross County under-20 duo Gordon Finlayson and Calum MacDonald both made their City loan debuts in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Berwick, Wilson’s first victory in charge of the Moray outfit.
The new boss (pictured) has also brought in former Caley Thistle team-mate Graham Bayne as his assistant, with the veteran striker also set to be registered as a player.
But it is the identity of a fourth possible Elgin signing which could be whetting the appetites of the Black and Whites’ faithful.
"We’re currently working on possibly one more to come in," Wilson revealed.
"It would be a good one if we could get him.
"Nothing will happen before the end of the week until we find out this person’s situation. Maybe it’s a long shot, but not too far away.
"It’s someone with a lot of SPL experience so we’ll see how it goes."
Elgin’s squad will be on the same lines this weekend for the visit of Stirling Albion to Borough Briggs on Saturday (3pm). On-loan Aberdeen midfielder Jamie Masson will be out injured for another month, while skipper David Niven and Paul McMullan could miss a couple of weeks.
But Paul Harkins should be OK to resume his holding midfield role despite coming off at Berwick with a stomach muscle problem.
