FANS’ favourite Daniel Moore is making a sensational return to Elgin City.
Manager Barry Wilson confirmed the talented midfielder will complete his transfer this week from Highland League Nairn County, who he joined a year ago after quitting Borough Briggs.
Wilson was thrilled to break the news of Moore’s capture, shortly after sealing the deal on three more moves for keeper John Gibson and defenders Matthew Cooper and Gordon Finlayson.
He said the former Ross County and Peterhead man was his number one transfer target from the moment he took the City managerial post.
“I’m absolutely delighted. He was the one that I had in mind from the minute I got the job. He’s a top, top player and I’m chuffed to bits to get him.”
Moore (25) left City a year ago after two years at the club, as Nairn lured him with a lucrative three-year deal closer to his Inverness home.
Strangely, a player who made the Division 3 team of the year during his time at Elgin struggled to settle at Station Park and often found himself on the County bench.Full story plus interview with City new boy Matthew Cooper in Northern Scot print version.
