VETERAN Elgin City striker Dennis Wyness could miss a busy February of action after picking up a hamstring injury.
And with City top scorer Stuart Leslie suspended, the Moray side are short of firepower for Saturday’s Division 3 visit of Annan.
Manager Ross Jack confirmed Wyness (35) is set for a spell on the sidelines after pulling his hamstring in the 1-1 draw at Clyde last week.
"It’s another blow. Dennis will be out for a few weeks," Ross said.
But the City boss added that fellow front man Paul Millar, who came off the bench to score his team’s equaliser at Broadwood, could now be given the chance to stay in the team.
"That was probably as good a striking display from Paul as we’ve seen in a long time.
I though he was excellent for us and he didn’t do himself any harm at all for Saturday.
City’s draw failed to end a run of matches without a win, which has now stretched to seven games.
For Saturday’s match against Annan, they will be without Leslie and Wyness while Brian Cameron is struggling with a shin injury sustained at Clyde.
But Jamie Duff and Paul Harkins return from suspension and are set to start the game.
Elgin’s recent postponed matches at Berwick Rangers and at home to Queen’s Park have now been rearranged for midweek dates.
They will visit Berwick on Tuesday, February 26 (7.45pm) and host Queen’s the follow Tuesday (March 5, also 7.45).
