Golfers chip in with donation in memory of Stephen

GOLFERS from an Elgin-based firm have raised £1,800 during a tournament held in memory of a colleague.

Robertson Group staff hold an annual in-house event at Elgin Golf Club in memory of Stephen Terron who died of cancer in 1997.

Over the past 14 years, the infrastructure, support services and construction group has raised more than £10,000 in aid of the Anchor Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary which provides specialist care for patients with all forms of cancer, leukaemia and blood disorders.

Stephen’s father, David, who takes part in the tournament, said: "It really is a tremendous pleasure to play golf each year with so many of Stephen’s colleagues from Robertson and to have the occasion to raise so much money in his memory for the worthy charity that Stephen’s wife Julie nominated all those years ago. I’d like to sincerely thank all at Robertson."

Derek Masson, the firm’s regional commercial director, said: "The tournament is a great way to bring colleagues together to remember Stephen while raising money for a very worthy cause."
