MORAY schoolgirl athlete Anna Macfadyen claimed a win and course record on her latest international appearance.
The Forres Harriers youngster (17) was first under-20 to the finish line in the Armagh international 3km road race in Northern Ireland.
Running for Scotland, Macfadyen was also 27th overall in a women’s race won by former Olympic 1500 metres finalist Laura Weightman, and set a new course record for an under-20 in a time of 9 minutes, 56 seconds.
In a great year so far, Macfadyen won a senior British cross country event in Cardiff and was third in the Great Edinburgh cross country international, and first under-20 in that race.
In the men’s international 5km race, reigning Northern Scot 10k champion Kenny Wilson set a new PB for the distance in finishing 68th.
The Moray Roadrunners ace ran under 15 minutes for the first time, clocking 14.50 in a race won by Team GB international Ben Connor.
