The Elgin School of Taekwon-do students passed their latest grading at the black belt seminar held in Glasgow in March.

Kelsey Cameron (12), from Elgin, joined the black belt clan by gaining her 1st Dan, while three veterans instructors at the club also made their mark.

Lesley Williamson, who has trained with the Elgin outfit since 1992, reached the status of 5th Dan, a rare achievement for a female taekwon-do competitor.

Julie McDonald, who holds classes at Gordonstoun school, passed her 4th Dan and Brian Johnson, from Elgin, is now a 3rd Dan.

The club comes under the expert guidance of John Williamson, a Senior Master in the sport which he has taken part in for more than 35 years.

He said Lesley, Julie and Brian were all long serving members of the club who had trained constantly over the six month period prior to the grading.
