CYCLE thrills and spills will be on offer at this weekend’s Moray Schools Mountain Bike Championships.
The event, which incorporating the third round of the North of Scotland Dirt Crit Series, begins at Mosstowie Primary on Saturday.
Organised by Moray Mountain Bike Club, the tourney also includes a fun contest for adults to join the youngsters on the competitive track.
Mountain biking was one of the 17 sports contested in this summer’s Commonwealth Games, and the Moray club is keen to attract more youngsters to the sport on the back of its success in Glasgow.
Entries can be made online or on the day, with signing on at 10am and the course open for practice until 10.45.
Age categories and approximate start times for boys and girls are: Under-6 10.45; Under 8 11.00; Under 10 11.20; Under 12 11.40; Under 14 12.10; Under 16 12.45; Under 18 1.20pm. The fun adult event is at 2pm.
For Under 8 to Under 18 categories, cost is £6 for online registration or £10 on the day. For under-6 and fun adult race, entry is on the day only and costs £5.

Riders must be signed on by a parent or guardian and bring a mountain bike in safe working order, helmet, gloves, appropriate clothing for wet weather and a packed lunch.
