THE Northern Scot 10k Series reaches its conclusion at the Benromach Distillery in Forres on Saturday.
This season’s champions will be crowned after Saturday’s Forres 10k race, which gets under way at the distillery at 2.30pm.
Forres Harriers’ Gordon Lennox is looking to retain his crown for the home club, but with two third-place finishes at Nairn and Elgin so far he has his work cut out.
Inverness Harriers’ pair Graham Bee and Dean Cunningham beat him in Elgin at the end of March and both are in contention to take the mens’ title with a victory in the Benromach.
Ladies’ reigning champion Jenny Bannerman (Inverness Harriers) won both the Nairn and Elgin events, but her bid to complete a clean sweep hinges on her taking part at Forres.
The 26-year-old competed in a Scottish Championships 5k road race in midweek, and may not run again on Saturday so soon after the rigours of her national bid for glory.
All individual and team prizes for this year’s series will be handed out at Forres Town Hall after the Benromach 10k
Registration for the race takes place in the small hall of the building from 1pm, and entries will be accepted on the day.
Limited parking is available at the distillery for the runners.
