Rachel says: "I like the autumn – it’s my favourite."
Her new album Live In Dawson City – recorded in the Yukon at the Dawson City Music Festival – is released on Monday, October 13.
And the same month her UK tour starts, including three Highland dates – Eden Court, Inverness, on Sunday, October 26; Universal Hall, Findhorn, on Sunday, November 2; The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen, on Wednesday, November 3.
The collection of her drawings – nudes and dreams – will also be on show following Rachel’s debut exhibition in Edinburgh in June.
In the five years since she left school at 17, Rachel has toured extensively with her hardy Martin guitar and a bandolim called Sue.
The recent Canadian tour saw her joined on the road by Rose Cousins, her friend and label-sister Mo Kenney.
And 2014 has also seen the singer play Australia and the Woodford Folk Festival, across the UK and Ireland including sold-out shows at London’s Union Chapel, and Glasgows Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum touring with friend and label-brother, Colin Macleod.
On top of this, Rachel has supported John Grant, Fink, Mumford and Sons, Ron Sexsmith and Elvis Costello.
For the autumn tour, Rachel will be joined by Jennifer Austin on piano, Colin Macleod on guitar – he’ll sing some of his own songs too – plus there will be surprise guests along the way. And support will come from the talented Lewis singer songwriter Miss Irenie Rose.
