DEACON Blue are the latest big name announced for Inverness Leisure Centre.
The band, who have sold over six million albums and seen a dozen singles in the UK Top 40, will appear at the Inverness venue on Friday 5th December 2014 as part of a 15-date UK tour.
Their latest studio album, A New House, is scheduled for release on 8th September and has been produced by the band and Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, Teenage Fanclub, King Creosote).
"I’m more excited about this new album than any record we’ve made up till now," frontman Ricky Ross commented.
"It’s going to be great performing it live. As well as that we have a huge catalogue of songs from our other records we’ll want to play to our fans in the Highlands. Don’t expect to go home too early!"
Ross’s fellow vocalist and wife, Lorraine McIntosh, added: "We’re so looking forward to performing at Inverness Leisure Centre and playing our new material to our fans."
Deacon Blue, who last year celebrated 25 years since the release of debut album, Raintown, follow another of Scotland’s most successful bands, Texas, who performed to a sell out crowd at Inverness Leisure Centre in November 2013. Pop and reality television star Peter Andre is also set to appear at the Bught venue in October.
Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 11th April, priced at £37, and are available online at www.ticketline.co.uk; by phone 0844 888 9991 or in person from Caffreys Menswear, Union Street, Inverness.
