BROOKLYN songwriter Rebecca Pronsky joins forces with native Highland singer Findlay Napier for a double headliner date at The Ceilidh Place in Ullapool on Monday 23rd June.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Pronsky has been singing since she was in elementary school and began writing songs at the age of 16 when she picked up the guitar.
After studying ethnomusicology and jazz at Brown University in Rhode Island, Pronsky returned to New York with a diploma and a demo CD and soon met guitarist and composer Rich Bennett, who went on to become her musical partner, co-producer and now husband.
Over the past decade they have appeared at festivals around the globe, including Celtic Connections in Glasgow, and have shared the stage with Shawn Colvin, Peter Case, Josh Ritter, Loudon Wainwright III, Amy Rigby, Wreckless Eric, and Steve Forbert.
Pronsky’s newest record, Only Daughter, is her third release on Texas label Nine Mile Records and received four star reviews in several publications including the Daily Telegraph which also named it a Top Ten Country Album of 2013.
Rebecca Pronsky, accompanied by Rich Bennett on guitar, joins Findlay Napier at the Ceilidh Place, Ullapool, on Monday.
