Singer songwriter Michael Cassidy and Ella The Bird (Siobhan Wilson) return to the Highlands to perform at the Ironworks Summer Showcases.

Michael will appear on Saturday, July 26, after his stunning performance as part of this year's goNORTH festival and supporting Twin Atlantic.

Michael's music is best described as alternative folk with an emphasis on melody. Michael cites a great variety of influences ranging from folk heavyweights such as Richard Thompson and John Martyn to more contemporary acts such as Rufus Wainwright and Radiohead.

And Siobhan - now going by the name Ella The Bird - also impressed her crowd at her breathtaking goNORTH performance and will also take the stage at the Ironworks, but at the second summer showcase on Sunday, August 24.

For those who don't know Siobhan's music, it's been called charming, engaging and at times unsettlingly perfect and that Siobhan performs the kinds of songs the listener feels they should have heard before, but haven’t.

Confessional, poetic lyrics, coupled with her quietly-fulfilling, yet self-assured, voice, tackle themes of love and longing with heartfelt emotion.
