Yasmin Rowe, the Winner of the 2008 Moray Piano Competition, played for Inverness Chamber Music on 16 April 2009.  Since then she has had many fine achievements.  A M.Mus With Distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music, First Prize in the Royal Overseas League Competition, and now, with her cello partner Yelian He, an award from the Tunnell Trust for Young Musicians.  It is by courtesy of this Trust that Yasmin returns to Inverness with Yelian under their duo name of Y-Squared.

Their concert in The Town House will be on Tuesday 18th February at 7.30pm when their programme will feature works for cello and piano by Poulenc, Beethoven, Martin, Boccherini and Mendelssohn.

February’s lunchtime concert, promoted by At One With Music, will be at 1.00pm on Friday 21st February when the incomparably entertaining Robert Irvine and Allan Neave return.  They are well known for creating an immediate rapport with the audience through their lively and informal introductions to the music.

Robert is senior professor of Cello and Chamber Music, and Head of Cello Studies and Allan is Senior Lecturer in Strings and Head of Guitar Studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.   Their programme for At One With Music includes works by Vivaldi, McGuire, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Casals and de Falla.
