HIGHLAND based music poscasters Netsounds Unsigned and Inverness venue Mad Hatters are bringing Edinburgh based label Gerry Loves Records north with a musical showcase by Adam Stafford, Rick Redbeard and Yusuf Azak on Tuesday 6th April.
Falkirk born Adam Stafford has become well known for his use of loop pedals and a capella vocals and live shows influenced by the theatricality of David Bowie and David Byrne.
Last year’s album Imaginary Walls Collapse, Stafford’s second, featured contributions from members of Zoey van Goey, Over the Wall, Siobhan Wilson, Anna Miles, and Robbie Lesiuk and was well received by critics with Clash magazine calling it "a quite remarkable record".
Joining Stafford on the bill is fellow Gerry Loves Records label mate, one time collaborator and Phantom Band front man, Rick Redbeard, aka Rick Anthony.
Redbeard’s album No Selfish Heart was also hailed by the music press in 2013 and both Redbeard’s and Stadfford’s albums appeared in the Scottish Music Sites and Bloggers (BAMs) Top 5 albums of the year list.
Opening on the night will be Gerry Loves’ latest signing, Glasgow based Yusuf Azak, who is an Aberdonian of Turkish descent.
His new album Peace in the Underworld, is scheduled for release in May and follows on from his first two long players Go Native and Turn On The Long Wire.
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are £5 (advance) from www.scottish.ticketsource.co.uk
