Scotland’s best known box and fiddle duo, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, are back on the road, performing at venues of all sizes all across Scotland.
The pair first began working together in 1988, when fiddler Bain, then with The Boys of The Lough, and accordionist Cunningham, a member of Silly Wizard, were paired up on a television series.
Bain and Cunningham enjoyed performing together so much that they decided to have a small tour that year. That was beginning of a remarkable working relationship and friendship that has endured and continued to thrive taking them all over the world, filling not only small village halls, but all Scotland’s major performance venues. In these years their dedication to their music has earned them both the title of Doctor and the honour of an MBE.
The current tour includes a return visit to Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on Sunday 11th August, and shows at The Sunart Centre, Strontian, on Friday 23nd August; the Carnegie Hall, Clashmore, on Saturday 24th August; the Craignmonie Centre, Drumnadrochit, on Sunday 25th August; the Nevis Centre, Fort William, on Saturday 31st August; the Universal Hall, Findhorn, on Wednesday 25th September; and Aberdeen Music Hall on Thursday 26th September.
