STRATHPEFFER Pavilion is planning a reminder of the venue’s heyday as the Highlands’ premier pop venue with a little help from north soul band Scooty & the Skyhooks.
Recently seen supporting the likes of Runrig and Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, the 12-piece band have been chosen to help celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Pavilion’s on Saturday 12th July.
Scooty & the Skyhooks started in the early ‘80s and went on to become one of the North of Scotland’s most popular bands, playing to packed dance floors in venues all over the Highlands — but not at Strathpeffer Pavilion.
Until now, that is.
"We have often been asked to book this hugely popular band and it’s most appropriate that they should help us celebrate our 10th birthday," Pavilion manager Andrea Muir said.
"We expect this to be an event reminiscent of the legendary Strath Dances of the 1960s and ‘70s."
Davie Ross from the band commented: "Scooty HQ are excited to announce that we are performing at Strathpeffer Pavilion. This is one of the Highlands’ most historic live music venues.
"We are thrilled the Pavilion have asked us to be part of their anniversary celebrations and local band Sharp Exit will be joining us with a support set. Hope you can all come along and make this a night to remember just like Strath dances of the past!"
Tickets are £12 and are now on sale from the Pavilion 01997 420124, June’s Card Shop Dingwall and online from WeGotTickets.com or Ticketweb.co.uk
