INVERNESS Town House is beginning a monthly series of lunchtime jazz concerts this Thursday, thanks to not for profit music organisation Bl’azz.
Long resident at Eden Court’s MacLean Room, Bl’azz begins its Town House residency on Thursday 9th January when Bl’azz director Nigel Mackenzie presents a programme of gentle jazz featuring selected songs from the repertoire of Fats Waller and W.C. Handy, performed at the Bosendorfer grand piano.
"The Town House in Inverness is a lovely historic venue with a superb grand piano and should be ideal for a spot of slightly swinging lunchtime entertainment," Mackenzie explained.
"Each concert will have a different jazz-orientated theme and Thursday’s will be the music of two of the most important composers/performers from the early development of the genre."
Doors open at 12.30pm and the concert will begin at 1pm. Admission is £5.
