Track Of The Week: Bite Night - City Pins

Written byTrack Of The Week

Bite Night
Bite Night - this could have come out a month earlier and my job would have been so much easier.

Bite Night are the closest thing we have in this job to arch-nemeses. After spending an entire month bumbling through gig previews featuring them with nothing more than a name and an erroneous description of them as like a cross between Dire Straits and Eric Clapton, we finally finish them up. We thought it was over. THEN they release a song. Presumably out of malice.

Luckily for them, it's great so we'll forgive them their sins. It's guitar-pop in the vein of The Libertines and Foals – all jaggy, dance-friendly riffs and staccato drums. Maybe one day, with more songs as good as this, we can put this bad blood behind us and all become great friends. What a beautiful day that would be...

They've also got Facebook now, thanks a lot you jerks. If you want to defend our honour (and why wouldn't you, we're fab), you can go throw rotten fruit at them on Thursday 6th - they'll be supporting Casual Sex at Mad Hatters. Tickets are £5.00, but you can probably source green tomatoes via an inquisitive search around the Tesco bins.
