So much of rock music these days is overly concerned with presenting itself as a form of high-art – or at the very least an outlet to complain about ex-partners – that it seems that the genre has forgotten its base purpose. That being, to be fun to listen to. Fat Goth are capable of that – they're a frankly wonderful mix of hard riffs and ridiculously great subject matter (also, one of their songs is called “Willy Wonka and the Charlie Factory”, which just tickles the humours in all sorts of ways).
Their new album – One Hundred Percent Suave – is now out, and they're going to be playing at Mad Hatters this Friday after the boys at Netsounds presumably fed them gallons of booze as a sweetener. Here's the lead single from it. It's called Class A. Guess what it's about.
