GLAMOROUS Strictly Come Dancing couple Pasha Kovalev and Katya Virshilas are foxtrotting back to the north of Scotland this summer with dates at Aberdeen Music Hall and Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on the 1st and 2nd June respectively.
Originally from Siberia, Pasha began dancing at the age of eight and since 2001 has been based in the USA.
He joined BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing team in September 2011 and has been partnered with Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healey, Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh and Rachel Riley from Channel 4’s Countdown.
Both Pasha and Katya has appeared on US reality show So You Think You Can Dance, as well as the BBC’s Strictly.
Katya was born in Lithuania, but at the age of 13 moved to Canada where she became British Columbia’s youngest ever Latin dance champion just three years later.
She trained Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez for the film Shall We Dance in 2003, and also danced the tango with Antonio Banderas for his film Take The Lead.
She has appeared in three series of Strictly, where she has been partnered with sportsmen Phil Tufnell, Gavin Henson and Dan Lobb.
Their brand new show for 2014 is inspired by Pasha and Katya’s love of films, Hollywood history and dance and sees them recreate some of their favourite dance scenes from their all time favourite films.
They will be joined once again by Mike Newman as the host of the show. Also returning are star guest dancers Ryan Hammond and Lindsay Muckle from South Africa.
Pasha and Katya will also be joined on stage by pupils from children’s dance schools from around the UK.
Tickets for the tour are now on sale, but fellow Strictly regular Brendan Cole beats them to the north. The New Zealand born dancer's own Licence to Thrill tour comes to Inverness and Aberdeen in March.
